Nightmare Tonsillectomy

Austin had his tonsils out on the 9th of March. It has been a nightmare. Tuesday night we got in bed and had just bearly fell asleep when Austin starts screaming mom, dad hurry!!! We run in the bathroom and there is blood everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE! (So this was 8 days after the tonsillectomy.) He is freaking out and scared to death. He is spitting blood every few seconds. He said to me can't we just call 911? I got him a ice cream bucket to spit in and CG loaded him in his truck, off to the emergency room they go. CG said by the time they got to the hospital there was a good inch of blood in the bucket (sorry gross i know). The doctors couldn't believe how much blood there was. Anyway by the time they got to the hospital it had started to coagulate and they got the bleeding under control. So they kept him in the hospital overnight and put him on a straight liquid diet. Also they told him if it happens again it will require surgery. Well yesterday my mom and I went to Richfield and Austin calls me in a panic "it's bleeding again"!!!! So I called CG and he ran home got him and off to the emergency room again. The bleeding had stopped by the time they got to the hospital and also it wasn't near as bad as the day before. In the emergency room the doctor came in checked out his throat, they made him clear his throat a few times and the bleeding did not start again so the doctor wants to give it time and seems to think that it is beginning to heal. Needless to say I had a hard time sleeping last night just praying that it wasn't going to happen again. Hopefully he is on the mend. Poor kid has had a rough go. I made him a warm jello drink for breakfast, and got him some chicken broth for dinner. I hope he feels like going to his Jr. Prom on Friday!
